Our DJ Jason did a great job! Initially we had asked him just to play some American Standards like Sinatra, and he had a great selection available. Guests had several requests that weren't on our playlist, and he checked with us first to make sure it was ok with us that he play them. Guests were dancing all night long and had a blast. He had a really good selection, and was able to get all the obscure songs we asked for. He even handed us 2 copies of a CD that contained about 20 songs we had asked to be played. He was very professional and we were very happy with him.

Affordable and fun! Our DJ was so helpful and made our reception a blast! Thank you so much for being there on our special day and helping make it one of the best days of our lives :)

We loved Mike as our DJ! He met with us a couple days before and we spent 2 hours going over all the music and details of the wedding. Mike was great at keeping the things moving as well as making it all about us. The music was great and our guests didn't stop dancing all night!

Kalib Moyer of Jay Maxwell's Music By Request did an amazing job DJing our wedding! We indicated songs that we liked on the very diverse list provided to us & Kalib was able to pick the perfect songs on our wedding night without having to explicitly tell him, song by song. He kept the party going until the very end, which was important to us, as the party ended on a high note rather than fizzling out. He was also great in managing the flow of the event together with the caterers, so that everything ran smoothly. The music was great to dance to and just right in terms of volume. Kalib was very helpful over the phone for a consultation. He was also very prompt in replying to all emails and phone calls. The overall service we received was phenomenal. We wouldn't change a thing about having chosen Kalib and would gladly have him DJ another event for us.

Darius and Jay Maxwell were wonderful to work with. They were very prompt in returning calls and emails and being available for questions leading up to the wedding. Jay did a wonderful job mixing music for me for my dance medley with my father. Darius, our DJ, was extremely professional, prompt, and easy to work with. He played everything I wanted and did not play anything that I did not want. He looked professional and definitely got the party rocking with his music selections. He did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Darius and the entire Jay Maxwell team for any event in which a DJ is requested.

We were in town for two days trying to find vendors for our wedding. We met with Jay for 15 minutes and never considered anyone else. The music was great! All my favorite songs were played and the guests danced all night! Jay was very well organized, reasonably priced and was great at communicating. He is the best choice for a DJ!

Jay and his crew were awesome. They really kept my wedding guests entertained and with all the different changes Jay was able to keep up. He really helped the overall flow of the reception and did a great job communicating with us. Jay also played every song that we requested and at the last min we cut out our father daughter mother so dances but Jay played the songs later in the evening and we ended up dancing with our parents after all. Jay was awesome if I ever had other events in charleston I would absolutely use him.

Excellent DJ. Jay was very organized and a lot of fun. Plus, he gave us a CD with all of our important music on it (first dance, ceremony song, last dance)! One of my friends sang during the ceremony and he took care of her music and mike and also amplified the officiant for us.

Our DJ was Rhett & our package included the ceremony & reception. He was great, he really tried to get people on the dance floor. He play the types of music & specific songs that we requested. They have a great workbook of songs to help you plan your ceremony/reception. He also gave us a cd of our music at the end of the night....such a nice touch.

How blessed we were to have Rhett from Jay Maxwell's Music By Request! Let me first start by saying that we were on such a tight budget but music was such an important part of our big day. Rhett was so prompt in always calling back and even made time to meet with me only days after a death in his own family. The level of professionalism from Rhett was unparalleled. He had everything set up for our outdoor wedding, and it was an amazing uninterrupted transition to our indoor reception. I assumed that all a DJ did for a wedding was play music and hopefully people would dance. Not so with this company. They go over EVERY detail from your ceremony until you leave. We were introduced with our bridal party and everyone's names were correctly pronounced. We went right into the first dance, etc. and the night was flowing really smoothly. Rhett even planned with us in advance to stand near the cake during the toast so that we could transition right into cutting the cake. I have received so many praises from the wedding guests about Rhett and the great music he played. The bottom line is that I would recommend Rhett and Jay Maxwell's Music By Request to anyone looking for a quality DJ who truly goes above and beyond.

The DJ (Andy) from Jay Maxwell's service was outstanding. Not only very friendly and professional, but also played a good selection of music basic on our requests. He also was wonderful about feeding off the crowd, choosing music that not only got the party involved, but kept them there. Andy from Jay Maxwell's Music by Request was outstanding. I would recommend him to anyone needing a DJ.

Jay Maxwell's Music by Request was the perfect choice for our wedding music. They provided music for our outdoor ceremony with a very seamless system - I never saw any wires and only heard the beautiful music as I walked down the aisle. He also did my reception music. It was a great blend of both requests (pre determined/approved) and space fillers (between the toasts, prescribed dances, etc.). They followed up with us prior to the ceremony to be sure that all names of the wedding party were pronounced correctly, the order of events was understood and the song versions were correct. They even made suggestions for our exit and "best ways" to do things that we didnt think of! They are definitely the professional who knows how to do it right! We were more than pleased! We definitely chose the right DJ!

It felt as if we were family! They were very professional and made sure everything was perfect. The wedding would not have been as special if we had used anyone else. I will always recommend their services and will always use them for all of my future events. To me there is NO other dj in town. Once you've had the best...why go anywhere else... I used them for my wedding and they were really great! They were even able to personalize my song list and download different versions of songs just for me! They were very inexpensive and I would definitely use them again!!! ++++

I requested Mike for my DJ. He was AMAZING!!! He sat down with my husband and I and went through the entire ceremony. He kept everything moving ontime, kept everyone dancing, so I could keep my peace of mind! I can't say enough great things about him. He was perfect from start to finish! He gave me a copy of all music played at my reception, he told me where to be and when to be there. I had people coming up to me weeks after the wedding complimenting him. He has a great announcing voice, great personality, and isn't the schmoozy DJ that some can be. Email or call Jay Maxwell and ask for him!!! You won't find a better DJ.

We had Jay himself and he was great! He was very reasonable price wise and very professional and kept the ceremony and the reception on time. We mapped out all the music for the ceremony and other events and he had all the songs we requested. Everyone had a great time on the dance floor thanks to him.

I read so many good reviews for this company myself that I didn't bother to interview any others. After meeting with Jay I signed a contract right away. I was very pleased with their communication and prompt responses. They were very professional and I was quite pleased with their service. My wedding went off without a hitch and Rhett was a great MC! He steered the event very well and was very friendly to work with. Highly recommend this group!

Ron was a great addition to our wedding. He played great music and really got our guests dancing. He was very professional and I would recommend him to anyone.
